Ideal 175662 Flow Turbine 35KW
This flow turbine checks the flow of water that is running through the boiler across to the hot tap, it sends electronic information to the boiler communicating how much gas is required to heat up the hot water that's being transferred to the hot tap. This flow turbine is prone to becoming blocked which in turn causes the boiler to fail, not only does it monitor the flow of the water it regulates the flow of water to the hot tap to approximately 14.5L per minute.
You can tell if the turbine is becoming faulty by the red light that is transmitted from the flow turbine transmitter that sits on top of the turbine. There should be a permanent red light on the transmitter but when the turbine is becoming faulty it starts to flicker and you end up with intermittent hot water at the tap. Most engineers change the turbine and the transmitter to be sure there are going to be no issues with the hot water when repaired, if you require the transmitter it can be viewed below in the related products section.
There are 2 Flow Turbines that fit the boilers below, the difference being 1 turbine is brass and the other is plastic. The easiest way of identifying which turbine you require is by where the pressure gauge is located "I know it sounds mad but it works".
If the pressure gauge is under the boiler and inserted into one of the valves underneath the boiler you require this turbine. If your pressure gauge is in the facia of the boiler alongside the clock then you require part number 176473 (this can be viewed below in the related products).
If you have a brass turbine you may want to consider the sensor that sits on the top of the turbine because sometimes the sensor is also faulty, this sensor can be viewed below in our related products tab.
